Public Health Threateco friendly mosquito trap

Mosquitoes continue to be a major public health concern. Some mosquito species, particularly Aedes and Culex, are responsible for transmitting diseases such as West Nile Virus, Zika, Chikungunya, and Dengue Fever. In the U.S. alone, there were 6,076 locally acquired cases of Dengue Fever and 1,410 cases of West Nile Virus in 2024 (1). As global health challenges continue to evolve, mosquitoes remain a persistent nuisance in many regions. The need to effectively and sustainably reduce the mosquito population around homes and properties has never been more urgent, as the risk of disease transmission remains a significant public health issue.

Ease-of-Entry

Adding a dual-target, self-spreading mosquito control system to your services is an easy and cost-effective way to expand your business. There’s no need for significant investment in additional personnel—existing technicians can be quickly trained to offer, install, and maintain such systems. The installation and servicing process is simple and time-efficient, no power source or light needed. This system can also be combined with other treatments (e.g., traditional knock-down, perimeter treatments, and larval control for large water bodies), offering flexibility and allowing for seamless integration into your existing services. By offering the dual-target, self-spreading mosquito control system, you provide an additional layer of protection for your clients, increasing the overall value of your pest control packages. This system also boosts customer satisfaction and reduces callbacks, while presenting an opportunity to lower costs, increase revenue, and maximize route efficiency—all while minimizing travel time.

What is Required?

Dual-Target Self-Spreading System

The system consists of an In2Care Mosquito Station and a refill sachet (In2Mix) that contains the active ingredients: a larvicide and an adulticide. The gauze material in the system allows mosquitoes to spread the biocides to their breeding sites. See how it works!

Important Notes

Dose

The recommended dose is 10 Mosquito Stations per acre, or one per 4,300 sq. ft. Average-sized U.S. yards typically require 2-3 stations to be installed. When adjusting the dose, in addition to square footage, it's important to consider surrounding landscape elements (e.g., shrubbery, trees, water features) and the type of location (e.g., residential, commercial, golf course, etc.). Keep in mind that the use of the In2Care Mosquito Station—whether as a standalone solution or integrated with other mosquito control treatments—depends on factors such as:

  • Mosquito population density
  • Mosquito species composition*
  • Number and size of large water sources
  • Customer's budget and expectations

*The In2Care Mosquito Station specifically targets (and is labeled for) container-breeding Aedes and Culex mosquitoes. Other species, such as floodwater mosquitoes, may continue to be a nuisance.

Expectations Management

The Mosquito Station targets the next generation of mosquitoes, and the larvicide needs time to spread and accumulate. It typically takes 2-3 weeks to see the full impact of the Station. Be sure to manage customer expectations accordingly.

Offering Guarantees

Do not guarantee any pest control treatment as 100% effective. No treatment is completely foolproof.

Timing

Early installation of the In2Care Mosquito Station ensures better mosquito control at the beginning and throughout the mosquito season. The station is typically needed from midFebruary to October in the Southern U.S., although this can vary depending on the region and local weather conditions. In warmer climates, treatments may start earlier or extend later each year. It is recommended to schedule servicing of the station every 4 weeks to maintain effective control, making it essential to keep up with regular treatments for optimal results.
